Henry here again, Berndt. Just to say 'thank you' for the sterling advice you gave me!
I visited several music download sites (all free) to get some cuts from the best band ever, Kraftwerk.
Anyway, after downloading a few songs, I noticed an ad for an anti virus, which I clicked on. What a great result! Now my 4 Gigabyte RAM, 1 Terrabyte HDD PC suddenly runs at around one eightieth of the speed it used to. This is really handy, as my computer used to run far too fast for me, I couldn't keep up! As an added bonus I also get lots of random cool pictures of flashing images that just pop up and fill my screen every few minutes. Most entertaining! I didn't realise an anti virus could help me so much. You are a genius, my friend. Thank you.
PS What does a flickering red and black skull with the words 'Death of Hard Disk Drive now imminent' mean?

What great luck to come across this site! I am a computer novice (aged 48!!) and was looking for sound, practical advice to help me find some efficient security software for my PC. I have been on other, less reputable tech support sites, such as Geeks To Go and Major Geeks, where I was told I should download an anti virus programme (whatever that is) and install a replacement firewall as the Windows version is less reliable than other firewall programmes. Even if I knew what they were talking about, I'd still follow your advice and surf the web until I found a good, free anti virus, which I will do in due course. I was hoping to visit Limewire and download some tracks by my favourite band, Kraftwerk, and I dedicate the results to you and your fabulous site.
